…. sleeping with the windows open of course. Isn’t it? The first thing I always do when that fall weather comes rolling in, open the darn windows. Finally took the air conditioner out of my large window. Woo hoo! Now the construction workers have a much better view of my room when they are building the auto shop next door, ya win some, ya lose some.
Second, anything and everything PUMPKIN. Although I will be honest with you, I am just not a fan of the Starbucks pumpkin spice latte. It just doesn’t tickle me. The cinnamon dolce latte (2 pump with whole milk and real sugar), gimme that any day. Pumpkin scones, pumpkin donuts, pumpkin muffins, I’m in! Side note: pumpkins themselves are also pretty awesome. So many different sizes. Have you seem the white ones?? Or the really tiny ones? Love it. I am thinking about using some chalkboard paint to decorate one, no? Maybe.
Third, wow I can’t believe this is third, maybe tie for second, fall clothes. Boots and sweaters, live and die for them. I have this black and white sweater, kind of looks a little bit Indian, that I wear every season. I have had it for at least 3-4 years. Still looks good, not too worn, although over worn every season. Maybe it does look worn and I’m just ignoring it. I am the type of person who has minimal clothing but dang, I really do like pretty much all of them. Quality not quantity, my motto for pretty much everything in life. My aunt has a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL, white Ralph Lauren sweater that she bought ten years ago that looks brand new. Probably because she doesn’t wear it every day as I do my favorite black and white sweater. Won’t stop, can’t stop.
Fourth, fall candles. Autumn leaves Yankee candle, go buy it right now. I also bought pumpkin spice. They were buy one get one 50% off. Macintosh is also a great smelling one. Candles = fall.
Fifth and final, Mother Nature. The leaves, the sound they make when you run in them and they crackle. The incredible colors that Mother Nature makes, red, yellow, orange, it’s pretty fascinating. The acorns. Collect them and find a shallow glass bowl, put a candle in it and then fill it up with acorns. Simple way of fall decorating. You could also spray paint them different colors, silver and gold and place them on your table for Thanksgiving. Take the art that Mother Nature creates and put it in your home. It’s pretty amazing.
I welcome fall with open arms. I missed it so.
