Summer is coming!

Summer is coming!

The official start of summer is coming up on Sunday. Like I stated in my last post, I need to have more goals. I have written a list of goals I would like to achieve this summer.

  1. Triathlon (July 18)
  2. Have drinks at Natirar
  3. Visit the Intrepid (I just need to, not sure why)
  4. Eat at Smorgasburg in Brooklyn (June 27)
  5. Go to Alder (Hey Wylie!)
  6. Take a cooking class
  7. Watch Fifty Shades of Grey and drink wine with friends (tonight!)
  8. Visit different farmer’s markets
  9. Blog every week (now)
  10. Learn

i am pretty proud of myself for having a few of these planned out already. Tonight my girlfriends Jess and Christine will be coming over for wine, cheese and crackers, apps and Christian Grey (heyyyy!). I will be going to Smorgasburg (www.smorgasburg.com) with a few friends next Saturday, meeting up with my brother and his friend. It is a bunch of food vendors, I can’t waitttttt. I am doing a triathlon with Hillary on July 18 in Westfield. We did our first triathlon together… I can’t even remember how long ago that was (getting old). Training is going well. It is a sprint triathlon, 1/4 mile swim, 11 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. Have you ever swam laps? It is HARD. It is such a good total body workout, I recommend it. Last weekend Hillary, Nicole and I got together and I may have spent $60 on cheese plate materials. I am obsessed with cheese, crackers, and anything else that can go on a cheese plate. I bought grapes, aged cheddar cheese, salami, orange and cranberry goat cheese, fig spread, brie and a few crackers. I may have skipped dinner and just noshed on the cheese plate. We watched the first episode of OITNB. It was pretty good actually. On Sunday of the same weekend I grilled up a lot of meat. I have decided I am going to grill a bunch of chicken and other things on Sundays and use it for the week. I made burgers, chicken and potato salad for the MC and his roommate. It was delicious. I made homemade chicken salad with the grilled chicken and used it in grilled chicken sandwiches as well as salad. So many options. Should we talk about my lunchblox obsession? Ok, they are made by Rubbermaid. They have salad kits, sandwich kits and I think kids kits. I love thinking of different foods to put in them. I try to put one new thing in it each day, but in reality that happens maybe each week.
